Husband and wife team Paul and Aniko Smith have been in the industry for over a decade and today have a property portfolio of over £8million.
Yorkshire born and bred, Paul with a BSc (Hons) in Engineering and an MBA, spent over 20 years working for a variety of blue chip organisations including Ford Motor Company, Coca Cola Schweppes and Whitbread, amongst others. In the year 2000 he and his wife relocated to Scotland to enable him to take on the role of Managing Director at Allied Distillers.
Qualified accountant Aniko, originally from Hungary, followed a similar path working for Procter and Gamble and Allied Domecq before also joining Allied Distillers. In 2004 both Aniko and Paul were made redundant as a result of a takeover of the company.
Over time they progressed from single lets to HMOs, commercial conversions and serviced accommodation, and subsequently established Yorkshire Investment Property (or YIP) to manage a portfolio of over 200 HMO lets as well as serviced apartments and commercial properties.
Today, Paul and Aniko continue to focus on their own investments, but now divide their time between working for themselves and helping others to realise their dreams and enjoy the financial freedom that they have managed to achieve. Through mentoring, training and public speaking Paul and Aniko strive to educate and support individuals like themselves who wish to develop personally and professionally to achieve success.
